It seems like we can’t go one day without hearing more news of hackers doing what they do best on unexpected game servers, publisher sites, and even law enforcement.
The latest attacks have been pretty heavy hitting – taking down Minecraft, EVE Online, League of Legends, and even the Escapist Magazine’s website.
The assault was led by LulzSec, a hacker group that daily threatens companies and servers publicly via a twitter account.
“Minecraft servers 100% down, website is up. You can watch their trailer video and everything! 😀 #TitanicTakeoverTuesday” said LulzSec, bringing humour to the massive DDoS attacks. “#TitanicTakeoverTuesday” is the hashtag they’ve created for today’s intrusions and attacks on the abovementioned servers.
No real reason has been given for these attacks, and that comes as no surprise. There appears to be no pattern or justification to the doings of LulzSec, except for their own amusement, of course.
And speaking of amusement, it looks like League of Legend subscribers aren’t getting any.
